Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you have rejected knowledge, I reject you from being a priest to me. And since you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.
We need to start taking God seriously. His Word is Truth. He means what He says. I invite you to read the above Passage of Scripture again. Our actions have great impact; not only on us personally, but on our children and our children’s children.
In America today, we are suffering the consequences of our actions and the actions of our parents and grandparents. The apathy and lack of reverence and obedience to God’s Word resulted in harmful seeds planted in America. We are reaping the harvest of those seeds now and it is not good.
However, upon true repentance, God is merciful and is eager to forgive His people and set them free from the bondage of the sins of prior generations. This is a major part of our Victory in Jesus!
Some Christians don’t believe in generational blessings or curses because we are all responsible for our own Salvation. However, the doctrine of sowing and reaping is powerful and what we sow, we shall reap even into future generations.
If we consider the sin of addiction as an example, we see where people are born with the propensity toward addiction. A person whose parents were alcoholics are likely to become an alcoholic themselves. This is a generational curse but upon the repentance and salvation of that person, the curse can be broken off their lives.
Contrary to popular belief, addiction is not a disease, it’s a sin. Addiction is a demonic spirit that attacks people causing them to become addicted and self-destruct. It is no different than the spirit of deceit that leads people to lie or the spirit of murder that prompts people to kill.
Demonic spirits torment and cause people to sin. In addition to the spirit of addiction, two very powerful demonic spirits ministering to people today are the spirits of sexual perversion and the spirit of murder. Both are bound to destroy life which is God’s gift to the universe.
When the spirit of sexual perversion attacks a person and they act on that attack, their actions result in pornography, rape, incest, homosexuality, or bestiality, to name the most common. Sexual perversion results in disease and death in the natural and in the spiritual. The wages of sin is death.
The spirit of murder is rampant in our society. Every day on the news we read and hear reports of people killing one another. Euthanasia is the spirit of murder. To put a person to death because they are of no value to society, is the spirit of murder manifested. Abortion is also the spirit of murder resulting in babies being killed simply because they are not wanted. God created them and He wants them. No one has the right to take the life of another. It is all the manifestation of the demonic spirit of murder.
When we look at the actions of people from a spiritual standpoint we can see the evil forces at work in our society. The answer is the same as it always has been: Repentance. We must repent and turn from the sin in our lives. While we cannot repent for the sins of another person, we can pray for God to draw them to repentance and grant them repentance. This will allow them to see the Light and know the Truth of God’s Word.
Repentance is the key for God to…………turn the tide
Praying for repentance, Doreen
