Proverbs 14:34 Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.

 

David had blood on his hands, and he knew it. He had Uriah killed in battle to cover up his own sin of adultery. He lived with this blood on his hands for a long time. Not until he confessed this sin to God was the blood washed off, and David’s hands were once again clean.

 

God wants us to live our lives with clean hands, and Jesus gave His Life on the Cross of Calvary so we can do so.  It doesn’t automatically happen the moment we are saved. We must confess our sins to the Lord and ask for forgiveness, THEN our hands are cleansed from that sin.

 

Nations consist of people. Without people, a nation is nothing but a land mass.  In every nation there are godly people and evil people. When godly people establish a nation and write their laws based on the Holy Word of God, you have a godly nation. That does not mean every person who lives there will abide strictly by every statute, but they will respect the law of the land and the source by which it came to be written. Such has been the case with the United States of America.

 

For two hundred years, America received the blessing of God because, as a people, we loved God and respected His Word. There has never been another country in history like America. This is because of the faith of our founding fathers and our adherence to the Word of God.

 

In the mid 1960’s this began to change as the evil influence in America took hold. The Word of God was taken out of public schools. Prayer was no longer permitted there either. This began the moral decay of our country and in 1973 a decision was made and laws put in place, that would defile the spiritual face of America.

 

Due to this decision, we, the people who make up the nation of America, are living with a tremendous amount of blood on our hands. We, as a nation, have stood by and watched as over 70 million God created, innocent babies have been murdered through abortion. That is a LOT OF BLOOD, my friends, and it’s on the hands of every American.

 

Abortion is wrong in the eyes of God, and we all know it. America is on the decline because of this nationwide sin and her turning her back on God and His Word. We will continue to decline until we, God’s people, fall on our faces before the Lord in true, sincere repentance for this horrible holocaust. 

 

I pray for the convicting power of the Holy Spirit to fall on the American people. May the spirit of repentance fall on every American.  The blood of 70 million babies is on our hands. It is no wonder the Lord has lifted His Hand of Blessing from us. It’s time to wash our hands in the cleansing bath of repentance. 

 

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. (James 4:8) 

 

Repentance will……....turn the tide
