Acts 3:7 And he (Peter) took him (the lame man) by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.
This is a powerful spiritual lesson for all of us. Peter spoke the Name of Jesus over this man and then lifted him up by his right hand. This was a demonstration of faith in action. The man wanted to be healed. He had lived his whole life as a cripple, sitting at the Gate of the Temple, having to beg for food. Every day, the temple goers passed him by on their way to and from their routine of going to the Temple.
Peter represents the Church. Jesus said, speaking of Peter, On this rock I will build my Church. The purpose of the Church is to spiritually lift people up and make them strong so they can walk on their own two feet. We are all crippled and lame until we have the Name of Jesus spoken over us and accept the Power that lies within His Name for Salvation, Healing, and Deliverance.
Once we are standing on our spiritual feet, we are to share our testimony and assist other spiritually lame people. This is God’s plan for the Body of Christ; the Church. Jesus died that we may live the abundant life; a life of Victory, not victimization.
We may be the victim of the circumstances of this world, but by the Name of Jesus, we can live Victorious lives in the Pasture of Plenty filled with so many Benefits we can’t count them.
The man in the story could have responded differently when Peter took him by the right hand to lift him up. He could have chosen to remain a cripple and fall back down, denying the Gift of Healing. He could have said, "Oh no. I can't stand or walk. I was born lame, and I will be lame my whole life." But he didn’t respond that way. He was changed forever; healed from his past condition. He instantly became a new creature in the Name of Jesus, and he was about to tell everyone he knew all about it!
There is Power in the Name of Jesus. Whatever is crippling your spiritual walk, speak to that crippling spirit and command it to leave in the Name of Jesus! Release the Power of the Holy Spirit over yourself and rise up and walk. As a believer, you have been given this Power by Jesus. This is still another Benefit in your Believer’s Benefit Package. Choose to use it. When you do, you will see your faith take action in your life.
The Power in the Name of Jesus will........turn the tide........in your life.
