Yesterday I told you I would share with you how an Angel of God saved my life and the life of my young daughter. I do not know the exact date, but it was early in the year 1974. At the time I was working in Berkeley, California, and living in Walnut Creek. During the day, my mother was caring for my daughter, who was then about 18-20 months.
On the day of this occurrence, after work, I picked up my daughter at my mom’s house and started home, which was about a 30-mile trip. As usual, the five o'clock rush hour traffic was horrific in the San Francisco Bay Area. I was driving a very small Subaru sedan, and my infant daughter was asleep in a lightweight plastic infant seat in the passenger side of the car. Seat belts were not required in those days, and she was not belted in.
On this particular stretch of freeway, there were eight lanes of traffic, and we were in the fast lane. The traffic was bumper to bumper, moving at the rate of well over 70 miles per hour. We were making great time when all of a sudden, all I saw was a sea of red taillights in front of me. The traffic had come to a complete stop, and I had nowhere to go!
I slammed on the brakes and “somehow” my little car turned sharply to the right and shot straight through seven lanes of traffic without hitting another car. I remember wondering, “How is this happening?” All I saw was a concrete wall in front of us, and we were heading straight for it. As my car approached the wall, it then miraculously turned to the left and came to a complete stop. We were safe. The Lord God had spared our lives, and I knew it.
There are many such incidents like this in my life, and I am grateful for the protection God’s Angels bring. Incidents such as this are not coincidence or happenstance. God has assigned to us Angels to guard us in all our ways.
Never doubt the Presence and Protection of God’s Angels around you. This is a Benefit in our Believer’s Benefit Package that brings with it the Blessed Assurance of being a child of God; provided for and protected by the Mighty Hand of God! Praise His Holy Name!
