Proverbs 14:34 Righteousness exalts a nation, But sin is a reproach to any people.

 

There is a quote repeated by many which states: “America is great because America is good.” The actual source of this quote is unknown, but nevertheless, I believe it to be true. It is the goodness of the American people that has caused this nation to be great. 

 

Where does goodness come from? All goodness comes from God. He is the source of everything good. So you shall rejoice in every good thing which the Lord your God has given to you and your house, you and the Levite and the stranger who is among you. (Deuteronomy 26:11)

 

God is the Giver of Blessings. Everything we have that is good has come from Him. There is no other source of goodness. Every thought and action that is in line with the Word of God is good and right. That which is opposed to the Word of God is of the enemy and is evil.

 

God’s people want to be good. We want to live righteous lives. This has been the belief structure of Americans since we became a nation back in the 1700’s. God made a Promise to nations who choose Righteousness over evil. The Word of God says, Righteousness exalts a nation.

 

No nation on earth has ever been exalted like America. Why? Because, as a people, we have chosen Righteousness; goodness. America chose God. The greatest blessing God ever gave the world was the Gift of His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ. America believed this and was founded on Biblical Principles. That’s why America has been exalted and blessed by God.

 

For America to continue to be exalted, she must remain good and righteous. She must continue to glorify God Almighty and lift up the Name of Jesus Christ.

 

Every American has a part to play in this. We must each do our part to maintain greatness in America.

 

Righteousness in the American people will……..turn the tide
