1 Chronicles 12:8 And of the Gadites there separated themselves unto David into the hold to the wilderness men of might, and men of war fit for the battle, who could handle shield and buckler, whose faces were like the faces of lions, and were as swift as the deer upon the mountains.
In the 12th Chapter of 1 Chronicles, God brings His Army together to stand with David. Even though they were from Saul’s tribe they sought the anointing of God which was on David. It took great faith for them to turn from Saul and take up with David.
These men were anointed by God and so filled with the Holy Spirit, they had faces of lions and were as swift as the deer upon the mountains. They were mighty and prepared for battle.
God is once again calling His Army together. It is the Anointing of God that will prepare us for the battle we face. The most powerful Anointing of God rests on the Son of David, Jesus. We must separate ourselves from religion and forsake it for the Anointing of God, Jesus Christ. Religion is man’s way; the way of the flesh. God calls His Army to fight under the Banner of Christ, filled with the Holy Spirit of God.
The enemy we face today will not be taken down by a social gospel, religious traditions, humanistic psychology, or anything else that man dreams up and practices. It is only in the true and full Gospel of Christ that the Anointing of God is found. All else is wasted time and effort on the part of God’s Church.
God is calling His Army to turn from “religion” and seek the Anointing of God. Therein lies the Power of God. The Prophet Isaiah tells us, the Anointing breaks the yoke. (Isaiah 10:27) The most powerful of men cannot break the yoke off anyone. ONLY the Anointing of God will break the yoke and set the captive free.
All enemies of God are captives of Satan. These people are in bondage of false religion or other demonic influences. Without Christ, there is no freedom from any type of bondage. It’s not about going to church once or twice a week. It’s about seeking the Anointing of God every minute of every day. This is the ONLY source of Power over evil and the only way to defeat the enemy.
