Mark 4:26-27 And He said, So is the Kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed in to the ground; and should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knows not how.
Jesus preached this parable to His followers, giving them the privilege and responsibility of sowing the Seed of the Gospel. This is a Benefit in our Believers Benefit Package that many Christians never receive.
Many receive, but few give back. The Kingdom of God is grown by those who choose to receive this Benefit and sow the Seed of the Gospel in the ground around them. There are countless ways to do this, and it must be done if the Gospel of Christ is to be heard around the world and the Great Commission fulfilled.
Jesus went on to say, Whereunto shall we liken the Kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it? It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth; but when it is sown, it grows up, and becomes greater than all herbs, and shoots out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it.
I suppose the questions for today are: Have you received the Benefit of the Privilege of Sowing? Are you sowing those seeds? Or are you just sitting back expecting someone else to do the sowing while you do the reaping? We all have a part to play and seeds to sow. Do your part to grow the Kingdom of God. It’s a great Benefit that will come back to you a hundredfold.
