Spirit, Soul, and Body

1 Thessalonians 5:23 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

As we discussed yesterday, Jesus formed man out of clay and breathed into him the breath of life. All the energy of God was breathed into that man at that time. In that instant, everything about the human body came to life. The human body is so intricate and magnificent that the most brilliant people cannot completely understand it. Doctors and scientists are still learning about the human body.

The source of our bodies is the Spirit of God breathed into us by Jesus, our Creator. He formed us and He breathed into us the breath of life. When this happened, the inbreathed Spirit came from Jesus into the body of clay and created a living soul. The sculpted body of clay took on the Spirit of God and became a living soul.

We are created in God’s Image. So God created man in His own Image; in the Image of God He created him; (Genesis 1:27) God is Triune; Three Persons: Father, Son, and Spirit. Likewise, man is Created in three beings: Spirit, Soul, and Body.

When Jesus breathed the breath of life into the clay, He breathed the Spirit of God into it. Our Spirit comes from above. It is the part of us that can communicate with God because it is from God. Our Body comes from beneath or the dust of the earth. When Jesus breathed the breath of life into the clay, the Spirit of God became part of the body of clay, and a living soul was Created.

When I think about this my mind goes to the seashore and the beautiful sand sculptures people make. This is what Jesus did but then He stooped down and breathed the Spirit of Life into that pile of clay and it came to life! It became a living, breathing, individual human being with a soul.

No two people are ever exactly alike. Everyone is different. This is absolutely amazing to me but we serve an amazing God Who is able to do all things! Jesus breathed the breath of life into the first man and He wants to breathe the Spirit of God into each of us, save us, and make us a new creation! All we have to do is say yes to Him and believe. Hallelujah!

Jesus went to the Cross to……….turn the tide……..in your life!

Thank you Jesus,         Doreen
