John 1:5 And the Light shines in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
In the first Five Verses of His Book, John explains the Deity of the Word. He describes the Word as a Person of the Godhead who was with God in the beginning and together with the Holy Spirit, THEY created the universe and everything in it.
He also tells us that the Word is both Life and Light. Yesterday we discussed the power of light to overtake darkness in both the natural and the spiritual.
It is easy to see the darkness in the world today. Everywhere we look sin abounds. Evil is alive and well and the spiritual condition of the world is not good. Many are asking, How could this happen?
The answer lies in the Spiritual Truth we’ve been studying; Light overtakes darkness. If you were to strike a match in a totally dark room, within seconds, that tiny light would illuminate the entire room. This is the power of light over darkness.
However, if you were to snuff out the light of the match, the room would immediately become dark again and everything would die. Nothing can live in darkness.
Spiritually speaking, the Word is Life and Light. (John 1:4) When the Word of God is snuffed out, darkness will prevail and things will begin to die. Since the Word of God was closed in our public schools, government and homes in the mid 1960‘s, darkness has taken over and life has greatly diminished.
This is a Spiritual Truth in God’s Order for His universe. When God’s people allow the Light (which is the Word) to be snuffed out, we are not only allowing, but CAUSING, darkness to prevail in our midst.
God’s Divine Order will continue to exist. What we choose to do with His Divine Order is up to each of us. God gave us Light and Life through the Person of His Word. It’s a free Gift from God to every human being who has ever lived. He also gave us the free will to accept Him for Who He is and live our lives in obedience to Him, or not.
It’s time to choose.
