Matthew 16:18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.
The gates of Hades are doing everything they can right now to destroy the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. This has been going on since Jesus walked the face of the earth as a man. Demonic spirits and powers of darkness are everywhere around us and yet Jesus reigns supreme!
The question in much of the Body of Christ today is: Do we have a part to play in this battle? If so, what is our part? Are we just supposed to hide in our homes and churches and trust God? After all, the Bible says, And that all this assembly may know that the Lord saves not with sword and spear. For the battle is the Lord's, and He will give you into our hand. (1 Samuel 17:47)
What does the New Testament have to say on this matter? Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the Power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. (Ephesians 6:12)
The battle that rages in America and around the world today is a spiritual one. Satan is fighting with everything he can muster to destroy the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. He uses people to do this and he has a huge army of very evil soldiers today. But what did Jesus say?
….on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. And I will give you the Keys of the Kingdom of Heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in Heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in Heaven.(Matthew 16:18-19)
There is no doubt there is a spiritual war raging in the world today. There are two sides to any war. Likewise, there are two sides to spiritual war: Good and evil. The evil we see operating today is the demonic work of Satan in the lives of people. The Good is the Work of God and His Righteousness in the lives of people.
Do we have a part to play in this battle? Read what Jesus said once again: I will give you the Keys of the Kingdom of Heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in Heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in Heaven. We, the Body of Christ, have been given the KEYS TO THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN! We have the Power and ability to bind Satan and all his demonic spirits! Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. (1 John 4:4)
To us has been given the POWER of God over the enemy. We have been called to put on the Armor of God and STAND! We have also been given the Power of God to rebuke, bind and cast out any and all demonic spirits from our midst. God wants us to operate in FAITH but, we do have a part to play. Our part is to use the Power we have been given against the devil.
Understanding the Power will……….turn the tide………in your life.
