Stand On The Promises

Psalm 89:34-36 My Covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips. Once have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David. His seed shall endure forever and his throne as the sun before Me.

Satan has tried to defeat Jesus Christ from the time he was banished from Heaven. He has done everything imaginable, but he has not succeeded; nor will he. The Word of God is clear on this, and Satan, try as he may, will fail.

Knowing the lineage of Jesus would be through David, Satan tried to destroy him through sin as well as battle, but he was unsuccessful.

In Verse 29 we read, His seed also will I make to endure forever, and his throne as the days of Heaven. This is a Promise of God known as the Davidic Covenant and has to do with God’s people, Israel. For some two thousand years they had no homeland but, scattered around the world, they survived. Satan has tried to destroy God’s people, but to no avail.

At one point, the only person in the lineage left was a tiny baby named Joash. All the others had been killed by a wicked queen named Athaliah. However, this little baby survived and grew up to be the King of Judah, bringing forth the lineage of Jesus.

In recent history, people like Adolf Hitler tried to destroy God’s people, but he couldn’t do it either. He murdered over 8 million Jews during WWII, but within three years of that war, the nation of Israel was formed, and God’s people once again had their land, the exact land God gave them in the beginning.

For centuries, and even now, the Nation of Islam has risen up against the Jewish people and tried to destroy them and take their land. They have taken some parts, but they will not destroy God’s people because the Davidic Covenant between God and His people shall not be broken by anyone, not even Satan and all his demons.

The Jews have rejected Christ as the Messiah, but one day that will change. This too is a Promise of God that shall not be broken. As believers in Christ Jesus, we are grafted in as God’s people and can participate in and stand on all the Promises of God, Satan shall not prevail against us. We are God’s chosen people! We are sons of God, and every Promise of God made to the Jewish people, we can claim! Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

The Promises of God will……..turn the tide
