The Holy Spirit Prophet

Acts 2:16 But this is that which was spoken by the Prophet Joel.

When Peter stepped forward in the boldness of the Holy Spirit and spoke to those gathered on the Temple grounds he quoted the Words of the Prophet Joel. Many people do not believe that the infilling of the Holy Spirit is for the Body of Christ today, but when we dissect the Words of Peter we find differently.

Peter said, But this is that which was spoken by the Prophet Joel. Please take note that he did NOT say, this FULFILLS that which was spoken by the Prophet Joel. This indicates that the Words of the Prophet Joel would continue throughout the period of time known as the Last Days.

The Last Days began on the Day of Pentecost and will continue through the Great Tribulation. We are, therefore, living in the dispensation of the Last Days. We also know this as the Dispensation of Grace because we are Saved by the Grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ. The Words of the Prophet Joel pertain to us today just as they did to Peter and the First Church way back in the year 33 A.D.

Nowhere in the Word of God do we read where any of the Prophecy of Joel would come to an end or stop. The Prophecy is for the Body of Christ (all believers) not just the Apostles or those who were present on the Day of Pentecost.

Theologians agree that the Holy Spirit imparted this Prophecy to Joel in the year 800 B.C. This is, of course, an approximation but is believed to be very close. The important thing to remember is that the Holy Spirit did not dwell in the hearts of believers in Old Testament times. He visited certain people at specific times and gave them Direction and Messages to share. These Messages are what we know as the Prophecies and we find them throughout the Word of God because they are, in fact, the Words of God given to people by the Holy Spirit of God.

The Prophecy of Joel found in the 2nd Chapter of His Book describes what the Holy Spirit will do in the hearts and lives of believers during the Last Days. As I stated above, that time frame began on the Day of Pentecost and will continue until Jesus returns to Rapture His Bride; the Church.

Since we are alive during this time, this Prophecy pertains to us! Joel is known as the Holy Spirit Prophet because his Prophecy speaks of the Work of the Holy Spirit in the lives of believers during the Last Days. We do not know how long this period of time will continue but however long that is, the Prophecy of Joel pertains to those who are alive at that time. That, my friends, is us! The Prophecy of Joel concerning the Last Days is for us. We are living out that particular Prophecy today!

The Word of God is AMAZING! If Joel spoke His Prophecy in the year 800 B.C. that would be almost 3,000 years ago! Think of that! 3,000 years ago, the Holy Spirit of God gave a man specific instructions that would pertain to us today! I can’t help but stand amazed as I study the Word of God. What an awesome God we serve!

According to the Prophecies, He is about to……….turn the tide

Hallelujah! Doreen
