The Living Water

John 4:7-10 A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give Me a drink.” For His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food. Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, “How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?” For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans. Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the Gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you Living Water.”

A most precious Benefit in our Believer’s Benefit Package is the Benefit of Acceptance. God accepts us in our current condition, no matter how horrible and sinful that condition may be.

Many people don’t believe God loves them because they have committed so many horrible sins. These thoughts are from Satan and keep people from being born again or living the abundant life Jesus died for all of us to enjoy.

The fact is, God loves you in your current condition. He has always loved you. He loved you before you were born, and He will love you until the day you die and beyond.

The incident noted in the Passage of Scripture above is a perfect example of the Benefit of Acceptance. When the Samaritan woman approached the well, she did not expect Jesus to even speak to her, let alone ask her to draw some water for Him to drink.

In the first place, she was a Samaritan and Jews did not associate with the people from Samaria. Although Jesus was a Jew, He was God, and God cares nothing about nationality. He created all nationalities and loves all people equally.

Secondly, she knew she was a sinful woman and therefore was not accepted by other Samaritans, let alone Jews. But, Jesus proved Himself to be far more than just another Jew. By striking up a conversation with her, set Him apart and she knew there was something very special about this Jew. This Jew, accepted her just as she was!

The Benefit of Acceptance awaits you. Jesus is there at the Well of Living Water waiting for the lost and burdened to come for a drink. Whether you are spiritually lost, trapped in sin, or burdened by life, the Living Water is but a drink away! All you have to do is ask Him, and He would have given you Living Water.

Regardless of your past or present spiritual condition, you are acceptable to Him. He is waiting for you to come for a Drink of the Living Water. Like all Benefits of God, it comes ONLY by way of Christ and His Sacrifice on the Cross.

A drink of the Living Water will.........turn the tide........in your life.

Drinking all I can get!     Doreen
