1 Corinthians 1:18 For the Message of the Cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the Power of God.
The Power of God lies within the Message of the Cross of Christ. Those who are spiritually dead regard this Message as foolishness and discard it. One day they will come to the knowledge of the Truth and become aware of the fact that the Message of the Cross is not foolishness, but they are, in fact, the fools. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the Name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:9-11)
Everything of God comes to us by way of the Cross of Christ; EVERYTHING! Without it, there is nothing. Without faith in the Cross of Christ, we have no hope and live empty lives dominated by the evils of this world. Satan and his team would love for every person to be in that dark place, and sad to say, most are.
When we speak of the Cross, we are talking about the specific incident when Jesus gave His Life on the Cross at Calvary for the sins of the entire world; past, present, and future. This moment in the history of man changed the world. When Jesus bowed His Head and cried out, “It is finished,” everything changed. Nothing would ever be the same again.
Three days later, when Jesus rose from the dead, He proved once and for all who He was: the only begotten Son of the Living God, the Messiah. He is the ONLY one to ever permanently overcome death. People have been raised from the dead, but they eventually died. No other god has ever accomplished this, and none ever will. All other gods are false, and those who worship them are bound for Hell with all the other non-believers. There is only one way to Heaven, and it is through faith in Jesus Christ and His Work on the Cross of Calvary.
We used to be able to say “God” and everyone knew we were speaking of the Trinity: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This is no longer the case. God is a generic term used today by many and does not necessarily refer to Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, or the Heavenly Father.
All religions have a god. The god in the forefront today is Allah. He is NOT God. Mohammed was not God. Buddha is not God. None of the generic gods is God. Some believe we all worship the same god but just call him by a different name. This is a falsehood and should be rebuked by every born-again believer!
Almighty God, the Creator of Heaven and Earth, His Son, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit of God are the One True God; all others are false gods dreamed up by man. Do not be deceived by this. Many Christians have bought into this falsehood.
Some so-called Christian ministers are inviting leaders of false religions to speak from behind their pulpits in an attempt to unite the world behind one god. This is a travesty, and Satan is jumping up and down, celebrating in Hell over this. These people will one day answer for their mistake because the Bible is clear that teachers will be judged in a stricter manner. Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness. (James 3:1)
Don’t be foolish, my friends. Read the Word of God. Believe in the One True God. Place your faith in the Message of the Cross of Christ. Therein lies your hope for eternity and this world.
