James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of Lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.
As believers, we must understand that everything we have that is good comes to us from the Lord. Also, every good thing we need is provided to us by Him through our faith in the Finished Work of Jesus on the Cross of Calvary.
As we discussed yesterday, faith is the key to everything good in this life. Faith requires an object. God has placed in the heart of every human being a measure of faith. For I say, through the Grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. (Romans 1:23)
This measure of faith is enough faith for every person to be Saved. It is enough faith to believe that Jesus went to the Cross for the sins of the world. Everyone has this much faith because it is the Will of God that every person be Saved. The Lord is not slack concerning His Promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9)
When we place our full trust and faith in the Finished Work of Christ on the Cross, all things are possible. God is able to do anything and He wants to do good things for us but He insists that our faith be in the Sacrifice of His Son.
Sin separates us from God and blocks His Goodness and Blessings. This is true in every person on earth because we are all born with the sin nature. That’s why God sent Jesus to die on the Cross and His Perfect Blood was enough. We don’t have to try to add anything to His Sacrifice. We don’t have anything that even compares to Jesus! The thought of that is ridiculous but still, people believe they have to do certain things to be saved.
Nothing except faith in the Finished Work of Christ is required. Jesus accomplished all that His Father sent Him to do. Who are we to think that we have to add anything to it? Foolish are those who believe such a lie. All we are required to do is believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life. (John 6:47)
Faith in Christ Crucified is the only way to Heaven and Victory over sin in this life. There is no other way.
God sent Jesus to……..….turn the tide...........in this world!
My faith is in Christ Crucified. Doreen
