1 John 5:4-5 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the Victory that has overcome the world—our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

 

Jesus went to the Cross so we can be overcomers of the world which is controlled by Satan and his many demonic spirits. As we look at the world around us today, it’s easy to see the handiwork of the Devil. God did not create us to be a part of this. We are created in His Image and He has a Plan and Purpose for each one of us in His Kingdom.

 

The Holy Spirit is our Teacher, Counselor, and Guide through this life. However, when He, the Spirit of Truth, has come, He will guide you into all Truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. (John 16:13) The Holy Spirit is the part of God that dwells within us and gives us Godly counsel. He will direct our path in life.

 

Our responsibility is to respond to His Guidance and be obedient. We must learn to cooperate with and yield to the Holy Spirit. We can only do this through faith in Jesus and His Finished Work on the Cross of Calvary. You see, if Jesus had not gone to the Cross, we would not have the Holy Spirit dwelling within us. It is our faith in what Jesus accomplished on the Cross that causes us to be Saved and born again into the new creation where the Holy Spirit can reside. Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. (John 16:7)

 

Jesus’ Life, Crucifixion, Burial, Resurrection, and Ascension were all part of God’s Plan and He did it all for us. He loves us so much He doesn’t want to see a single person die lost and spend eternity in Hell. He wants us all to place our faith in Christ and become a born-again, new creation. When we do, He will send the Holy Spirit to dwell within us to Teach, Counsel, Guide, and Help us in every way.

 

The Holy Spirit is the Promise of God to all believers and He is everything we will ever need in this life. Therefore being exalted to the Right Hand of God, and having received from the Father the Promise of the Holy Spirit, He poured out this which you now see and hear. (Acts 2:33)

 

Everything we receive from God comes to us through the Holy Spirit of God. He is the Power Source of God. Once we come to the full realization of this Truth, and agree to listen and obey the leading of the Holy Spirit, we will know the Peace that surpasses understanding.
