Immediately following sexual sin and idolatry, God adds witchcraft to the sin list. Witchcraft is so destructive to the believer, and yet it is everywhere in the world and, unfortunately, in the Church as well.
God takes witchcraft very seriously, and the Word of God calls it all detestable to the Lord. When you enter the land the Lord your God is giving you, do not learn to imitate the detestable ways of the nations there. Let no one be found among you who sacrifices their son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord. (Deuteronomy 18:9-12)
The penalty for practicing witchcraft is death. You shall not permit a sorceress to live. (Exodus 22:18) A man or a woman who is a medium, or who has familiar spirits, shall surely be put to death; they shall stone them with stones. Their blood shall be upon them. (Leviticus 20:27). Saul died because he was unfaithful to the LORD; he did not keep the word of the LORD and even consulted a medium for guidance. (1 Chronicles 10:13) Death is the penalty for witchcraft. Those who practice such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God. (Galatians 5:21) Death has always been God's penalty for witchcraft, and it still is today.
What is witchcraft? There are only two sources of power: God and Satan. Any power that is not of God is of Satan and is witchcraft. Satanic power of every kind is witchcraft, including fortune telling, palm reading, tarot cards, voodoo, mediums, ouija boards, and other such games, etc. To seek spirituality, knowledge, or power apart from God is witchcraft and is addicting making it closely related to idolatry. Please remember, in God’s Word, witchcraft immediately follows idolatry, which immediately follows all sexual sin. God has listed these in order because they are very closely related.
For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. (1 Samuel 15:23) Rebellion against God and His Righteousness is witchcraft. When we rebel against God, we are seeking power somewhere other than God, and the only other source of power is Satan. Therefore, rebellion is witchcraft.
This is a STRONG WARNING to all reading this message. Do not take this lightly and DO NOT ENGAGE IN ANY FORM OF WITCHCRAFT. If you have done so in the past, REPENT and seek the Forgiveness of God NOW!
The Power of God is far, far greater than any power of Satan. Seek the greatest Power in all the universe, the Power of God, and believe in it. This is a HUGE Benefit in your Believer’s Benefit Package, and like all the Benefits, it has been made available to you through the Sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross.
