Exodus 15:25 And he cried unto the Lord; and the Lord showed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet; there he made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there He proved them.
Only God can make bitter waters sweet. Many believe this is an impossibility, but with God, all things are possible. He can soften a hardened heart and bring healing to a body ridden with sickness and disease. He can mend a broken heart and cause the pieces of a shattered life to be put back together.
No psychologist, psychiatrist, or psychotherapist is able to do what God can do. The greatest human mind is not capable of knitting together a broken spirit. The most powerful pharmaceutical drugs known to man do not bring about healing but only mask the pain for a time and make it bearable until the drug wears off.
Untold numbers of hours have been spent talking to counselors and therapists, only to find the patient the same or worse than when they began the therapy. Only when we surrender and let God minister to our needs will we see the healing begin. He can do what no man can do. He can minister to the root of every need we have, while the most talented therapists only treat the symptoms of our problems.
When Jesus declared, “It is finished.” on the Cross of Calvary, the bitter waters were made sweet. Sometimes the change is instantaneous and other times it happens over a period of time, but you can rest assured, when you place your faith in Jesus’ Finished Work on the Cross, you will be changed!
Only God can……..turn the tide
