1 Corinthians 2:11 For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.

While the Trinity is easily understood by many, by your responses, it is evident to me that it’s not so easy for everyone to comprehend.

The Word of God says, Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, (Genesis 1:26). The pronouns “us” and “our" are plural, which would indicate that at the time God created mankind, God, the Creator, was not alone. This is the first key to understanding the Trinity or the Three Persons of God.

In 1 Thessalonians 5:23 we read, May God Himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

God created man with three parts: spirit, soul and body. If we were created in His own Image and Likeness, then it would appear that God also consists of Spirit, Soul, and Body. Three Parts.

No person on earth knows our thoughts. We cannot read the mind of another. Our thoughts belong to us, and only our own spirit really knows them. We can misrepresent our thoughts to others, but deep down inside, our spirit knows the truth. For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them?

We cannot separate ourselves from our own spirit. We are unable to hide our thoughts or actions from our own spirit. Likewise, we are unable to divide our spirit from our body or our soul. Our body, soul, and spirit make up who we are; a single human being with three distinct forms, having three individual roles, but at the same time, THEY are all one.

No person is born without all three parts. God created us all with a body, soul and spirit. The Word of God says we are made in His Image and Likeness. Therefore, God is also Body, Soul, and Spirit.

It is the Holy Spirit of God that communicates with our spirit. When we hear God speak, His Spirit is communicating with our spirit. If we have an incredibly strong “gut feeling” to do or say something, that could very well be God’s Holy Spirit speaking to our spirit. What the world calls our conscience (that little voice inside that tells us when we're wrong) is actually our spirit.

The goal is for our spirit to stay in constant communication with the Holy Spirit of God. The Thoughts and Plans of God are made known to us ONLY by way of “Spirit to spirit” communication. This is why God tells us in His Word to live by the Spirit. The Apostle Paul wrote in Galatians 5:25,  Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.

To be in step with the Spirit means to walk with Him all the time. When soldiers learn to march in perfect formation, they are said to be “in step” with each other. If they should get “out of step" they must immediately make the correction and get back “in step" with the troop.

God’s Divine Plan and Order for every person is for us to  live by the Spirit and always be in step with the Spirit. He has made the Way for us to live by the Spirit and walk in step with the Spirit at all times. That Way is Jesus Christ who declared, I am the Way, the Truth and the Life.

Only God is able to….......turn the tide
