Galatians 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the Liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. 

 

Liberty is a Benefit in the all-inclusive Believer’s Benefit Package that few Christians really understand and accept. The fact is, we don’t have to be entangled with a yoke of bondage. Satan has no power over us unless we give it to him. 

 

Satan is the prince of the world, and he is determined to destroy the Kingdom of God, one believer at a time. When we know and BELIEVE who we are in Christ and all the Benefits that are included, Satan does not stand a chance against us. 

 

I remember the conversation I had with my mother when I was about six years old about my dad getting a vacation from work. We didn’t have much money, and my dad worked hard at his job every day. When my mother announced to us that we would be going on vacation, I remember thinking, how are we going to have enough money to pay the bills if Daddy doesn’t go to work. My mother explained to me that he would be receiving his vacation pay. I didn’t understand what that was, so I asked her, “You mean he will be paid even if he doesn’t go to work?” That’s when she explained to me about the benefits that came with his job. There weren’t many, but a weeks paid vacation was one. Then she explained to me that if he didn’t take his vacation before a certain date, he would lose it. I remember not totally believing her. I worried that his boss would not pay him, and we would have no food. After all, who pays someone for something they have not done? After we took our vacation and my dad got paid, I believed.

 

Jesus gave His Life on the Cross so we could live the Abundant Life with ALL the Benefits. We can accept them or not. My dad didn’t have to take his vacation. He could have forfeited it. That was his choice. Likewise, you don’t have to accept the Benefits of being a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. That’s your choice. 

 

Do you live every day in some sort of bondage? Has Satan robbed you of your Peace and Joy? Are you suffering in pain and agony? Are you bound by addiction? Do anger and rage rule your life? Do you spend your days in the darkness of depression? Are you riddled with guilt and shame? The questions are endless, but the answer is the same for them all. 

 

The ONLY answer for a life free from bondage, sin, and pain is knowing, understanding, and BELIEVING what is available to you in your all-inclusive Believer’s Benefit Package. Whatever you suffer with, there is a Benefit for it.  The Apostle Paul said, Stand fast therefore in the Liberty by which Christ has made us free.
