1 Corinthians 15:33 Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good character.”
The Word of God tells us over and over again to beware of being deceived by people. In his letter to the Corinthians, the Apostle Paul warns them about the company they keep. We must be extremely careful about who we associate with because “Evil company corrupts good character.”
In our culture today, deception is everywhere. People will tell you whatever they think you want to hear to sway you to do what they want you to do. Politics is a perfect example of this, but it is also true in all aspects of our every day, personal lives.
Young people are especially vulnerable to evil influence. In schools and college campuses, evil is prevalent. When I was a child, there were safe places we could go. There was trouble in the streets, but home, school,l and church were considered to be safe haven places. No more.
Evil has crept in everywhere and it’s almost impossible to escape it. As guardians, parents and grandparents, it’s our responsibility to protect our children from evil and the only way to do this is to pray for them constantly, teach them the Word of God and set a Godly example for them. I have stored up your Word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. (Psalm 119:11)
The evil we see in American culture today has not happened by chance. It has been a systematic, planned downward path TOWARD evil instead of away from it. The Bible being taken out of schools was the beginning of this downward turn. It began slowly because the Word of God was still spoken in homes and churches and even on the streets of America. Over time this has changed and now it’s difficult to find the TRUE Word of God anywhere in public in America.
Our nation was founded on the Word of God. It has been the Word of God that has sustained America. We stand at the most crucial time in American History. Will we choose the Word of God again in America? The way I see it…..it is our only Hope.
We must turn back if we expect God to……..turn the tide
