Times Of Trouble

Psalms 9:9 The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.

We all suffer difficult times in life. We lose people we love. We have times of disappointment. People we love forsake us. We come under attack. Things happen in life that cause us distress. The Word of God calls these times of trouble. We all have times of trouble.

The question is, how do we respond during these times? Who do we turn to for help? Who do we seek for guidance and assistance? Unfortunately, most people do not seek God’s Help during times of trouble. They seek assistance from their family, friends, churches, and the government. This is not the Lord’s way.

God wants us to turn to Him in times of trouble. His Word tells us this and yet, when things get tough and times are rough, we turn to everyone else except God. David wrote about this. The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. And those who know Your Name will put their trust in You; for You, Lord have not forsaken those who seek You. (Psalm 9:9-10)

There is a repeated Promise in the Word of God that says I will never leave you nor forsake you. We find this seven times throughout the Bible. No matter how bad the circumstances appear, God is there. No matter how horrible people treat you, God is there. Satan’s attack may be severe, but God is far greater and more powerful. (1 John 4:4)

In times of trouble look to Him. He is your refuge and your strength. He is your safe harbor in the midst of a storm. He is your hand up out of the pit. Don’t be downtrodden. Look up! God is there ready to guide you and bless you. He is able and He is waiting for you to stop seeking help everywhere else. Go to Him. He is the only one who can help. God keeps His Promises. He will never leave you nor forsake you.

Are you in the midst of a storm? Are you suffering from an attack of the enemy? Have your family and friends forsaken you? Have you been mistreated? Are you suffering? Who are you turning to for help? Who do you trust? Who is your refuge? Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path. (Proverbs 3:5)

Only the Lord can………..turn the tide ……….in your world!
