Ephesians 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
Much of the damage to the House of Praise was caused by those working to fight the fire. The breakage and water damage were as extensive as the fire damage. Don’t get me wrong, we are incredibly grateful for the work of all the firefighters who responded that evening and put the fire out.
This is exactly the way it is many times in our spiritual lives. When we come under the attack of the enemy, so often those seeking to help us cause as much, or more damage than the attack itself.
Although people have good intentions and mean well, they will often refer the broken Christian to secular counseling when what they really need is the Holy Spirit to be their Counselor and the Word of God their Source of Truth in the matter. Jesus told us, I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. There is no other way to Victory.
The battles we face are all spiritual. Nothing happens in the natural that does not originate in the spiritual. The enemy comes ONLY to kill, steal, and destroy the born-again believer. He is a spiritual entity and can only be fought spiritually. No one can win a spiritual battle fighting in the natural. This is when we find ourselves suffering more damage at the hands of those claiming to be “firefighters.”
God has given us everything we need to fight off and be victorious over every attack of the enemy, but he must be fought on his own ground, spiritual ground. When we attempt to fight the devil with natural weapons, it’s like trying to defeat a nuclear bomb with a bee bee gun. It just doesn’t work!
All Power to defeat the enemy is through the Power of the Holy Spirit, which has been made possible by the Sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross. The battle has already been won. Jesus defeated Satan on the Cross two thousand years ago! Satan knows this, but he also knows most people DON’T know it! That’s why he insists on continuing to attack us.
Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. (James 4:7) This is a Promise of God; a Benefit in our all-inclusive Benefit Package. We do have power to cause the devil to flee, but we must first totally SUBMIT ourselves to God.
To receive the Benefits of God, you must FIRST show up to work. That’s the way God planned it, and He is not going to change for you, me, or anyone else.
Total submission to God will….......turn the tide ...........in your life.
