Truth Brings Enemies

Galatians 4:16 Have I therefore become your enemy because I tell you the truth?

Paul’s letter to the Galatians was direct and to the point. The people in the Church there had fallen away from their faith in Christ and Paul felt compelled by the Holy Spirit to get them back on track. People were preaching a false gospel and we can tell by Paul’s choice of words that it was a very serious matter. But even if we, or an Angel from Heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. (Galatians 1:8) Then, in the very next sentence, Paul repeats himself. As we have said before so now I say again if anyone preaches any other gospel to you that what you have received, let him be accursed. (Galatians 1:9)

This is exactly what is happening in the Church today. Many forms of false doctrines and teachings have infiltrated the Church and the people no longer want to hear the truth. People twist Scripture and manipulate the Gospel because they want to justify their own sins.

As we read through the Book of Galatians, we find that Paul told them the Truth whether they wanted to hear it or not. This is what needs to be done in the Church today. The Truth of the Gospel of Christ and the whole Word of God must be taught and preached. Yes, it will bring conviction to the hearts of many people. The Word of God is offensive. That’s why people don’t want to read it or hear it preached.

After Paul’s lecture to the Galatians, he asked Have I therefore become your enemy because I tell you the truth? (Galatians 4:16)

Paul understood that as a Called Evangelist, it was his responsibility to preach the Truth no matter what. This is the Call on the lives of all of us. If we sugar-coat the Gospel and agree with sinful lifestyles, we will answer to God for our actions. Jesus’ brother, James, wrote about this in his Book. My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment. (James 3:1)

If you are in a teaching or preaching position at your Church, I pray you take this message to heart. The blood of the people you lead astray will be on you when you stand before Jesus at the Judgment Seat of Christ.

Please take the time to read Galatians. I ask you the same question Paul asked the Galatians. Have I therefore become your enemy because I tell you the truth? (Galatians 4:16) I hope not. I love you all.

The Truth will……….turnthetide……….in your life.

Only the Truth.         Doreen
