1 John 5:6 And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is Truth.

 

In every court of law, all witnesses are sworn to tell the truth and nothing but the truth. Have you ever wondered where this originated? If so, we find its source in the Word of God. One such Passage of Scripture is 1 John 5:6, And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is Truth. 

 

The Holy Spirit of God will ALWAYS bear witness to the believer of the Truth of God and His Holy Word. He is God and therefore, unable to lie or bear false witness. 

 

The witness of the Holy Spirit is a tremendous Benefit for the believer and will forever lead us back to the Cross of Christ, who is the Word of God. The Voice of the Holy Spirit will NEVER contradict the Word of God, which is the Heart of God in written form. He will NEVER, EVER give false testimony. If the Voice we hear is in fact the Voice of the Holy Spirit, it will be the Truth and nothing but the Truth and in complete accordance with God and His Word.

 

In some court cases, we hear the judge on the bench say, “Strike the testimony of the witness.” The judge will then order the jury to “Disregard that portion of the testimony of the witness.” If the judge is honorable, he will do this because he believes the testimony to be false, misleading, or not pertinent to the case. The key here is to have an honorable judge. We refer to judges as “Your Honor” because they are supposed to be honorable. They take an oath to be honorable and just, having no bias in the cases they hear. However, as we all know, this is not always the case. 

 

This is not so with God, His Word, and the Holy Spirit because God is a just Judge, (Psalms 7:11) and ​it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is Truth. (1 John 5:6)

 

The Witness of the Holy Spirit will........... turn the tide ..........in your life.
