Turn To Him

Proverbs 18:24 A man who has friends must himself be friendly, but there is a Friend Who sticks closer than a brother.

Yesterday, I left you with this question: Why don’t we see mighty Miracles in the church today? There are many answers to this question, but in a nutshell, they all have to do with our relationship with Jesus Christ. The Word of God calls Him a Friend Who sticks closer than a brother. Jesus spoke of Himself in this regard when He said, Greater love has no one that this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. (John 15:13)

Everything we have in this life is available to us through our faith in Jesus Christ and His Finished Work on the Cross. This includes the Power of the Holy Spirit within us. If we don’t believe and trust in ALL that Jesus accomplished on the Cross, we can expect nothing of God except His undying love for us; which is a lot!

However, if we want to do great things for the Kingdom of God, we must have a close relationship with the One Who makes it all possible. That Person, is Jesus. He is our Friend. We can trust Him. He will never fail us. He will never lie to us. He will always be there when we call upon Him.

An in-depth study of the Four Gospels will cause us to know what sort of a Person Jesus is. When we learn how He related to people and treated people, we come to the place of wanting to know Him personally.

This will be the beginning of the rest of our lives. Knowing Jesus totally changes us. Understanding that God loves us so much that He would send His Only Son to die on the Cross for our sins is so wonderful I don’t have the words to describe my gratitude.

If you know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior; if He is your Friend that sticks closer than a brother; if He is your all in all, you should have the faith to believe that every Word in His Book is true and for you.

It is on this relationship with Christ that the Church was founded and built. Many of the people in the First Church witnessed Jesus minister to people. They were among those sitting on the shore that day when He taught from the boat and then fed them all with a little boy’s lunch. They were there, so they believed and because they believed, they could operate in that faith. They knew Mary Magdalene. They saw the change in her. They knew Lazarus, Mary, and Martha. They knew Jesus had raised Lazarus from the dead.  They saw him walk out of the tomb in grave clothes. They knew the man who sat by the pool of Bethesda for 38 years waiting to be put in the water. They heard Jesus teach and they witnessed the Miracles, so they believed.

Jesus spoke to Thomas and said, Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed. (John 20:29) Can you be counted in this number? Do you believe things you have not seen with your own eyes? Do you believe the Word of God to be true? Do you have a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ? Do you know Him? Is He your Friend? He is waiting for you to turn to Him.

When you turn to Him, He will….…….turn the tide……..in your life.

He’s my Friend, Doreen
