Colossians 2:13-15 And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the Cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.
Living a lifestyle of sin is living a defeated life. Jesus did not suffer and die a horrible death on the Cross of Calvary so we can live defeated lives. He died so we can have Victory over sin and all attack of the enemy now, in this life; while we are alive on this earth!
Christians sing and look forward to spending eternity in Heaven and all that is good. I do too but what about now? What about this life we currently live? When we get to Heaven we won’t need the Power of God over sin. We won’t need our sins forgiven. We won’t need Healing or Deliverance. All that is for us NOW in this life.
Jesus said, I have come that they may have life and have it more abundantly. (John 10:10) He is speaking of this life that we currently are living. Jesus died so we can live abundant lives on earth.
Even though the sin nature is within us, the Power of God is far, far greater than anything the enemy can conjure up against us. Greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world. (1 John 4:4) Do you believe God is greater than Satan? Do you believe Jesus destroyed the power of the enemy on the Cross? Not sure? Read this Scripture: Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. (Colossians 2:15)
What are principalities and powers? The Apostle Paul taught us about this in his letter to the Ephesians. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:12)
We live in the midst of a continuous spiritual battle. The enemy never gives up attacking us. BUT the Power of God is so much greater that it is no contest. When we understand that, on the Cross, Jesus disarmed the enemy, we can live every day in that Victory. The battle is over! Jesus won it for us!
Satan and his demon spirits are like little ants under our feet. Yes, they can be tormenting but they have no power over us unless we surrender to them. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. (Ephesians 6:13) Never quit! Never give up! God is for us! Jesus won the battle on our behalf! In Him we are victorious! Put the enemy under your feet where he belongs and keep him there. Stand and stand strong in your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and remember this, as you stand, you are crushing the enemy under your feet! Hallelujah!
Jesus died to……..….turn the tide...........in your life.
Satan, get under my feet! Doreen
