Matthew 6:10 Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done.

In the middle of the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus gives us the Model Prayer. We know this as the Lord’s Prayer. Jesus prefaced this by saying And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words. Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in Heaven, hallowed be Your Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the Kingdom and the Power and the Glory forever. Amen.

For the past few days, we have been discussing the subject of having a Kingdom mindset. This is to be continually focused on Jesus because He IS the Kingdom of Heaven. John the Baptist introduced Him as the Kingdom of Heaven (Matthew 3:2) and Jesus introduced Himself this way. (Matthew 4:17) In actuality, Jesus is the Kingdom of Heaven personified.

He is the Word made flesh (John 1:14) Who came to be the Perfect Sacrifice, required by God Almighty, for the sins of the world. Jesus cannot be separated from the Father. They are One. Likewise, the Holy Spirit cannot be separated from them either. They are Three-In-One; the Holy Trinity. Together, they make up the Triune Godhead by which everything was made that was made and everything has its existence. (John 1:3)

With those facts established, we can easily see that Jesus is the Kingdom of Heaven sent to Earth. He IS the New Covenant. He did not BRING the New Covenant or tell us about the New Covenant. He IS the New Covenant just as He is the Word of God and the Kingdom of Heaven in the form of a person.

While we can only experience the Kingdom of Heaven in the spiritual realm at this time, in the not-so-distant future, Jesus will come for us and we will join Him in the air. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18) After this, the world will experience the seven-year Great Tribulation which will be the most horrible time in all of history. (Matthew 24:21)

But then, Jesus will set up His Kingdom here on Earth where He will rule and reign as King for 1,000 years. (Revelation 21:1-27) This is the Second Coming! A kingdom is not a kingdom without a King. At that time, Jesus will be King. Everyone on earth will know Him as King Jesus and every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. (Romans 14:11)

Until then, we are called to occupy the land. Until then, we can experience the Kingdom of Heaven in the Spiritual Realm here on earth by way of the Holy Spirit dwelling within us. Jesus went to the Cross of Calvary so all this can happen. It is the Plan of God for His universe. You and I are a part of it. Therefore, love the Lord God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength as Jesus commanded us to do. (Mark 12:30)

Given the signs of the times, it won’t be long now. I pray you are ready.

God is about to………..turn the tide……..in this world.

Until then,         Doreen
