1 Peter 2:24 He Himself bore our sins in His own Body on the Tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.
Yesterday, we initiated a discussion on victimization. Every person alive today has reason to have a victim mentality. We have all been hurt by people or circumstances of life. We have the right to be the victim; we’ve been victimized.
Victimization is actually the manifestation of bitterness and unforgiveness in our lives, both of which are demonic spirits that seek to rob us of our faith and destroy us. Anything that weakens our faith in Christ is satanic in origin.
We are all in the midst of a spiritual battle every day. God and His Righteous Angels seek to build us up and draw us closer to Him. They work to guide, guard, and protect us as our faith grows stronger each day. Satan, on the other hand, takes every opportunity to rob us of our faith and knock us down. His goal is to kill us, and unfortunately, millions of people have fallen into this trap due to a lack of knowledge and understanding.
If Satan can hold you captive as a victim in your mind, he has you right where he wants you. Yes, you have been hurt. Yes, you have every right to be bitter and see yourself as a victim. BUT, when you take on this identity, you are allowing Satan to have his way with you.
Jesus Christ had every right to see Himself as a victim. He never sinned or did one single thing wrong, and yet, He was crucified. They pounded spikes through His Hands and Feet and literally nailed Him to a wooden Cross. There He hung until His natural life ended. To be sure He was dead, they drove a spear through His Side. Christ was the victim to beat all victims, but He CHOSE Victory over victimization.
When Jesus was resurrected from the grave and revealed Himself to over five hundred people, He did not complain to them about how He was the victim. He talked of His Victory.
Jesus gave His Life for ALL sin; your sin, my sin, and the sin of all those people who have hurt you. True, born-again believers have no right to harbor bitterness against anyone. Bitterness and a victim mentality are not of God. It is the attack of the devil. Bitterness and a victim mentality are, in themselves, sin. ANYTHING not of God is sin.
Jesus died for ALL sin. Jesus has great Mercy and Compassion, but He died that we may be HEALED and DELIVERED from all these feelings, not spend our lives as victims. Just as Jesus was resurrected from death and the grave, He wants to resurrect His people from all sources of spiritual death. That is the reason He went to the Cross. He died that we may live. Himself bore our sins in His own Body on the Tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.
Every believer can live in complete Victory because of what Christ did on the Cross. You cannot live as a victim and walk in Victory over that situation at the same time. Victory is a choice. Anyone who TRULY understands and believes what Jesus did on their behalf, will choose Victory over victimization.
We all have to choose whether we will live as a victim or accept the Free Gift of Victory. The ONLY source of Victory is faith in Jesus Christ and what He did on the Cross. He alone is Victory.
Only faith in Jesus can……..turn the tide
Victim? NO. Victory? YES ! ! ! Doreen
