Matthew 6:6 But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
The answer to every problem is in the Word of God and we read over and over again to PRAY! Several years ago, the movie War Room was released. It is available on DVD and other platforms.
If you have not seen the movie War Room, you need to see it. Get a group of family and friends together and show it. It is a remarkable demonstration of the power of prayer. In addition, it depicts the spiritual warfare we fight on a daily basis. It addresses the importance of repentance and discipleship. In short, this movie is a wonderful dramatization of “How to Live for God.” It is absolutely a, MUST SEE!
We all want God to heal our land, but we don’t want to change our ways. We want to keep doing what we are doing and living the way we have lived and expect God to do what we cannot do. With God all things are possible, but we have to do our part and a BIG part of that is personal time spent with God in prayer.
I am not talking about reciting memorized prayers and speaking the old “Now I lay me down to sleep….” prayer. I’m talking about praying fighting words with God. He is on our side but He expects us to be willing to be strong and fight.
When God hears our powerful prayers He will release the Holy Spirit to work miracles in our lives. God can turn our nation around quickly IF we the people will turn back to Him in effective, fervent prayer. God promises to reward righteousness with blessing. A HUGE part of righteous living is having an active, effective, fervent prayer life. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. (James 5:16)
When, we the people, allowed the government to take prayer out of school, this nation began to quickly go down hill. At the same time, people stopped praying together as families. Parents stopped praying with their children. Couples stopped praying together. Prayer stopped and today we find ourselves at the bottom of the hill in a heap.
A lack of prayer has landed us where we are and an abundance of effective, fervent prayer will pick us back up. God WILL hear our prayers BUT we must pray them. God will answer our prayers but we must be willing to hear the Lord, repent, and change our ways. He will give us the strength and ability to do what He is calling us to do, but we must FIRST pray, listen, and obey.
It’s been a long time since America prayed as a nation to the One True God of the Bible, the Creator of the Universe. It’s time; way past time. We have turned our backs on God and foolishly wondered what has happened. God is a just God. He is also incredibly merciful. He stands ready to extend His Hand of Mercy on this land, but He is waiting for His people to fall on their faces in prayer to Him; the ONLY ONE WHO CAN BRING REAL CHANGE TO A LOST AND DYING WORLD.
Only God can……..turn the tide
