Whole-Hearted Faith In Him

Psalms 14:1 The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none who does good.

The 14th Psalm is a description of foolish people. Anyone who does not believe in God is in this category. Unfortunately, the world is full of foolish people.

Verse 2, The Lord looked down from Heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any who did understand, and seek God.

God continues to look down from Heaven in search of believers who diligently and earnestly seek after Him with all their heart. What does this mean?  It means exactly what Jesus said in Matthew 22:37 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.

Everyone is passionate about something. Whatever that is, that’s their god. There are few whose true passion is God and the Kingdom of God. Most people (even believers) just go through the motions day after day, week after week, but never REALLY seek after God with all their heart, soul, and mind.

Jesus said in Matthew 6:24 and repeats Himself in Luke 16:13 No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other.  The Word of God refers to this as “double minded” or “lukewarm” and sternly rebukes it. I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth. (Revelation 3:15-16)

I don’t know about you, but I want to be counted among the few. When I stand in the Presence of God, I want to hear Him say, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” God knows we are not perfect. He knows we will falter and fail at times. He does not ask for perfection because He knows we will never be able to attain it. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23) All He asks of us is to seek after Him with all our heart, soul, and mind.

We all have areas of our life that need cleaning up spiritually. God is faithful to reveal these areas to us when we earnestly seek Him.

God is looking for people who are single-minded with whole-hearted faith in Him. It’s a daily challenge and commitment to our Lord, who has given us EVERYTHING. As the old song goes, I am weak but He is strong. Jesus keep me from all wrong. I’ll be satisfied as long, as I walk, let me walk close to you. Just a closer walk with Thee. Grant it Jesus, is my plea. Daily walking close to Thee, let it be, Dear Lord, let it be.

Only God can do this. Only God can……..turn the tide

Let it be, Dear Lord, let it be.    Doreen
