Acts 5:19-20 But at night an Angel of the Lord opened the prison doors and brought them out, and said, “Go, stand in the Temple and speak to the people all the Words of this life.”

 

In the 5th Chapter of the Book of Acts, we read that the Apostles were ministering Healing and Deliverance to the people in the Name of Jesus. The Holy Spirit of God was moving and operating mightily due to the faith of those in attendance. People were bringing their sick and demon-possessed family and friends to the Temple and they were all healed and set free. Thus, the Church grew in number every day.

 

This angered the Sadducees to the point that they imprisoned the Apostles. You see, the Temple was their domain and the followers of Jesus were upsetting it. There was tremendous excitement in the air and it wasn’t for the Law! It was all about the Finished Work of the Lord Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary and people came by droves to hear and witness what the Holy Spirit would do.

 

Not knowing what else to do, as I said, the Sadducees put the Apostles in prison. However, just as the grave could not hold Jesus, prison bars could not hold His Apostles! But at night an Angel of the Lord opened the prison doors and brought them out, and said, “Go, stand in the Temple and speak to the people all the Words of this life.” (Acts 5:19-20)

 

Angels are Messengers of God. They bring a Message to God’s people and that night they told the Apostles to Go, stand in the Temple and speak to the people all the Words of this life. Please note that the Angel did not tell them to run away to a different place and take the people with them. The Angel told them to go right back to the Temple and continue to preach to the people and minister Healing and Deliverance to them all in the Name of Jesus.

 

The Sadducees and Pharisees had nothing but the Law for the people which leads only to death. The Apostles of Christ had the Words of LIFE! Abundant Life here on earth and Everlasting Life in Heaven through faith in the Finished Work of the Lord Jesus Christ! There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the Law of sin and death. (Romans 8:1-2)

 

The Angel set the Apostles free from prison and instructed them to go back to the Temple (God’s House) and boldly continue to speak the Words of Life! This continues to be the Message to every Minister of the Gospel of Christ. You are free from the bondage of the spirit of religion! Go! Speak the Words of Life to the people!
