Worthy To Be Saved

Mark 11:46 And they came to Jericho: and as He went out of Jericho with His Disciples a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.

The account of the healing of blind Bartimaeus is a powerful testimony of faith that will speak into the lives of everyone who hears it and understands its meaning.

As we read and study the Scriptures, we must be ever mindful that every Word is important and has significance. God does not add insignificant words to the accounts just to fill up space. We read in 2 Timothy 3:16 that, All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. “All Scripture” means exactly that, ALL Scripture; every Word.

Some will say that the healing of Bartimaeus is just another Miracle performed by Jesus along the way, but no Miracle is minor. If it happened to you, it wouldn’t be minor.

Because the Word tells us that Bartimaeus was the son of Timaeus indicates that he came from a well-known family. He was not just a blind beggar on the street with no name, as some were. The fact is, Timaeus and the rest of his family discarded him, declaring him “worthless” and refusing to take care of him, or he wouldn’t be sitting on the street begging.

His family declared him worthless, but Jesus pronounced him worthy of healing. Many people are rejected by their family and are attacked by the demonic spirit of unworthiness. This is a wicked demon that drives a person into deep depression and darkness, which leads to horrible sin and sometimes suicide. In an attempt to be found worthy, people will do just about anything.

All people are in need of self-worth. Everyone needs to know they are worthy. Our family members should find us worthy, but even when they cast us aside, we still have worth in the eyes of God and are worthy of His amazing Grace and Mercy.

There is a word used over and over again in the New Testament. This word is “whosoever.”  Whosoever believes in the Son has eternal life; (John 3:36) Whosoever means exactly that: whoever; anyone; no exceptions or exclusions; impartial. All are welcome into the Kingdom of God. All are worthy of His Grace and Mercy. People reject us because we are not good enough, strong enough, smart enough, good-looking enough, physically able, or because we have failed too many times.

Eventually, people will give up on each other, but God never gives up! Praise God, He never gives up on anyone! God is able to turn the tide in your life; pick you up out of the pit and set your feet on solid ground. What an awesome God we serve!

Only God can……..turn the tide

Thank you Jesus,      Doreen
