Ephesians 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rules of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in heavenly places.
The above Passage of Scripture describes our enemy. He is a spiritual being; a fallen angel who hates God and God’s people. He attacks us in various ways and uses people and tactics to accomplish his plan in our lives. Mostly, he attacks our minds which has been our topic of discussion here for the past several days.
The first verb we find in this Scripture is wrestle. The dictionary defines wrestle as to fight, grapple, struggle, wrangle, and battle. It’s not an actual physical fight or altercation but it is an inner struggle or battle that takes place in our minds. This is why we are having this discussion on the mind.
This battle has already been won! Jesus gained victory over the enemy and all his demons and evil spirits on the Cross of Calvary. While they still exist, they have no power over the children of God. Those of us who are believers in the shed Blood of Christ on the Cross, should have no problem with anything Satan throws our way. And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the Cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. (Colossians 2:13-15)
Ephesians 6:12 describes our enemy and Colossians 2:13-15 describes the Victory Jesus won over our enemy. Therefore, we can walk in defeat or we can walk in Victory. It’s our choice. What do you walk in? Do you live a life of defeat and torment by an enemy who was disarmed 2000 years ago? If so, there is no need for you to live like this. The enemy has no hold on you. You are a child of the Most High God. The Son of God paid the ultimate price for your Freedom.
Put the enemy where he belongs: Under your feet and keep him there. He has no hold on you and he has no right to infiltrate your mind. If he is doing this, cast him out and put him in his place! Today is your day of Victory! Walk in it!
Jesus went to the Cross to……….turn the tide……….in your life.
