Yesterday Is Gone

Micah 7:19 He will turn again, He will have compassion upon us; He will subdue our iniquities and you will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea.

The compassion and mercy of God are immeasurable and never-ending.  Time and time again He will look on us with compassion and grant forgiveness when we ask. What a tremendous Blessing and Benefit for the believer.

This reminds me of an old song written by Merrit Ford in 1958 called, “God Took Away My Yesterdays.”

It’s a simple, beautiful melody with only two verses and a chorus, but the Anointing of God is on this song. If you have any “yesterdays” in your life, I’m sure these words will minister to you as you praise God for His awesome forgiveness.

(Verse 1)

I once was lost and lonely, my heart was full of sin,

But God looked down and saw me and drew me close to Him.

He told me how He loved me, And He bade me to come in,

Then He said, “If you're sorry, I’ll wash away your sin.”

(Chorus)

God took away my yesterdays, and left me free from sin,

And in that home called Heaven, He’ll never mention them;

In a land so far away, they’ll always stay in a deep sea called forget.

God took away my yesterdays, the moment that we met.

(Verse 2)

God took away my yesterdays from them I’ll never run,

I can’t live for tomorrow, for tomorrow may never come;

But while I’m here I’ll serve Him for me He gave His Son,

And soon He’s gonna call me home to that new Jerusalem.

Give God praise today for taking away your yesterdays and casting them into the sea of forgetfulness, never to be found again. This is freedom, my friends. Freedom from our past. Whatever it is….God stands ready to forgive. Give it to Him today and let Him cast it into the depths of the sea.

Repentance will……..turn the tide…...in your life.

God took away my yesterdays,      Doreen
