1 John 1:9  If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

 

Here we have another tremendous Promise of God. Like all of God’s Promises, it comes with a condition. IF we confess, He WILL forgive and cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness. 

 

Because of our faith in what the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished on the Cross, we can confess, repent, and be forgiven and set free! Hallelujah! There is no sin that is not included in this. It doesn’t matter how horrible it is; God stands ready to forgive when we repent. The call of the Lord has always been to repent.

 

Many people believe they suffer with certain sins and diseases because it’s hereditary. They believe that since their father and grandfather were alcoholics, they will be one too. Another common belief is that since all their relatives have a disease, they are doomed to have it too. 

 

While it is true the propensity toward certain sin and disease may be there, we don’t have to accept it as a generational curse. The Apostle Paul writes about this in the 2nd Chapter of Colossians. And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, has He quickened together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses; blotting out the handwriting of Ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to His Cross; and having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it. (Colossians 2:13-15)

 

Here we find the Promise of God to free us from any and ALL generational curses! Everything was nailed to the Cross with Jesus where He defeated EVERY power of the enemy and made an open display of His Triumph over him! 

 

When we are born again in the Lord Jesus Christ, we are no longer bound by the sins and diseases of our forefathers. We are a NEW creation and are washed in the Blood of Jesus.  It is as if the old blood is no longer running through our veins, but it has been completely replaced by the Precious Blood of Jesus that washes away all sin! Hallelujah!

 

It’s as if we have received a TOTAL BLOOD TRANSFUSION! Not one single drop of cursed blood is in us any longer. No more hereditary disease or propensity toward sin. It’s ALL gone! We are made new!

 

We must believe in who we are in Christ and walk in the newness of being born again!

 

Now if that doesn’t make your day, I don’t know what will! This is the day that the Lord has made …..REJOICE AND BE GLAD!

 

This should……turn the tide……..in your life!
