John 9:4 I must work the Works of Him who sent Me: the night comes, when no man can work.
Jesus spoke these Words because He knew His time was short. He understood His Divine Assignment to be sacrificed on the Cross was coming soon. There was much work to be done, and He didn’t waste a single minute.
So it is with us. We too must work the Works of Him who has sent us. Time is short. There is a great deal of work to be done, and we have each been given a Divine Assignment.
Do you know your Assignment? Why are you alive at this time in history? The Word of God tells us that God knew us while we were in our mother’s womb. He knows the plans He has for us. He has predestined us to live at this exact time in all of history. It is no accident you are alive on earth today.
God has something specific for you to do. He has gifted and anointed you to do just that. The question is: Do you know what your assignment is?
Some people set goals for their lives and work toward those goals. They set long term goals, short term goals, and immediate goals. God sets our goals for us. He has a lifelong plan for every person on earth that moves us through the different seasons of our lives.
I said in my heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time for every purpose and for every work. (Ecclesiastes 3:17) As we go through different seasons of life, our Divine Assignment changes. God set all this in place before we were ever born.
Made by the Master’s Hand, He created us each for something very special. He gives us Divine Assignments every day to fulfill that which He has planned for us to do. God created you and caused you to be alive at this time for that specific purpose. It is He who formed you in your mother’s womb. It is He who gave you life. It is He who knows you inside and out. He knows everything about you. He loves you and wants to use you in the way He intended. His intention for your life is your Divine Assignment.
This is the day that the Lord has made for you to live out your Divine Assignment for today. Again, I ask: Do you know what your Assignment is? Have you asked God to tell you what your Assignment is? He will reveal the answer to you if you ask.
As we go through difficult times, we must be aware that God is moving us into a different season of our lives. As the seasons change, so do our Divine Assignments. Most of us don’t like change, but God knows what He is doing, and we must trust Him to bring forth the needed changes to move us into a new season in life where we can fulfill His Divine Assignment for us.
Take a moment to consider that God has a specific Divine Assignment for you today. Perhaps He has several Assignments for this day. Every moment of every day is an opportunity to bring glory to Him and reveal Him to someone else.
Our lives are not about us. Our lives are all about Him. Without Him, we are nothing. Without Him, we wouldn’t even exist. We are each a part of His Divine Plan for His Universe. We are exactly the way God intended us to be. There is no other person on earth like us; created with a unique, Divine Assignment for today, tomorrow, and every day of our natural lives.
What a blessing it is to know that we are being used by God, for His Purpose, through His Divine Assignment He has for us each and every day. Ask Him to describe to you your Assignment for today. Then, go about doing it. Faith without works is dead. I must work the Works of Him who sent Me: the night comes, when no man can work. (James 2:26)
Only God can……...turn the tide
